Fruits of our labor
Here is the first fruit we’ve picked and eaten! One little strawberry! It was good; maybe a little tart. I probably should have kept it on the plant for a couple more days, but I couldn’t resist trying it!
Speaking of red…Josh and I both got sunburned – painfully sunburned on Tuesday. We had cabinets and a workbench installed in our garage that day, and while the men were working in the garage Josh and I were in the yard planting a LOT of things. We didn’t realize how much time had passed, and I had forgotten to put on any sunscreen. Yikes. It is painful. But for our efforts at least we have about 15 more things planted including another tangerine tree (Dancy Mandarin), another navel orange tree, and another orange tree, two japanese mock orange bushes, a japanese aralia, our old hong kong orchid, a banana tree, a cape honeysuckle, three fresias (LOVE the scent!), a pindo palm, a bird of paradise, and an emerald green arborvitae. We also have the drip irrigation set up to all of those, too.
It’s great to see the (somewhat) finished garage, too! Scary though how fast we’ve filled it up again. (Sigh). We had a lot of rain last night and a power outage around midnight. We were glad we’d put everything back into the garage, but we still need to organize it better.
