Some berries and a bird

Lately the scrub jays that frequent our yard have been flying over us and scolding us if we don’t leave out peanuts for them. It is so fun to watch a whole bunch of scrub jays fly in and swoop up a peanut, fly away to stash it somewhere, and fly back for more…all the while squawking in their cute voices. Here are some pictures of one of them picking up a peanut:

There have been goodies for us in our yard lately, too! We’ve been able to pick some strawberries here and there to eat, and the other day we had our first little handful of blueberries ripe and ready to eat! They were really good. Here is a picture of our first blueberries from both bushes:
