Another appointment down…too many more to go!

I was dreading this doctor appointment today, but I’m so glad it’s over now. Today I had to go to the lab to drink glucola and do the gestational diabetes screening blood test. I also had another monthly OB-GYN appointment. They were really busy on both floors, so it was crazy, but we got it done. The drink wasn’t that bad. It really was just like flat orange soda. Not too hard to just chug it all down. Not pleasant, but not retch-worthy, either!

I am so glad that I won’t be needing any more blood drawn with this pregnancy. After my last few experiences of almost passing out after they took so much blood it’s not fun to think of! I think it didn’t help that I was already feeling so sick and queasy from the morning sickness.

I am so relieved that I didn’t get a call from the doctor today. They said if I don’t hear from them it is good news! Whew, what a load off my back. I was concerned because a friend of mine was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and it doesn’t sound easy at all. She is handling it so well, though!

Tomorrow I’m at 24 weeks!
