A peachy day
I had seen that our peaches were ripening a while ago, and I remembered to go check onΒ them today. I was able to pick six of them, but I saw pits strewn about the bottom of the tree and peaches left half-eaten on the tree. I don’t know what was eating them…birds, raccoons, squirrels, cats, rats, who knows! I was upset to count at least 14 wasted ones, though. We have to do something about that!
It’s funny, while I was out there, so many things were orange-colored that I photographed. There was a gorgeous dragonfly at our pond (he posed for pictures for me), our orange canna lily, an orange rose, the peaches of course, and our goldfish in the pond.
You can’t really tell from the picture, but this is actually a lavender rose:
And while I was out taking photos and picking peaches, Lillian was having a two hour nap. That is big news this week, because lately she’s been feeding non-stop. She’s been growing so much! This is definitely one of her growth spurts. She’s so sweet. The last couple of weeks, she’s been smiling at us! It is so heart-meltingly adorable and exciting to see her eyes light up, and her mouth stretch into a huge grin!! She also giggles in her sleep. She has the cutest chuckle. She will smile all big while she’s sleeping, then her body shakes with her cute laughter. So adorable!!
I love the picture Josh took of Lillian, above. The sun was coming into the room just right to create those sparkles of light. They seem to compliment Lillian’s wonder with the world. I messed with that image in photoshop and made it my desktop for now! π
Here it is, sized down for the blog:
