Poor baby

Poor Lillian is under the weather today. 🙁 She has a bit of a dry cough, and some congestion in her nose. It is so hard to hear our baby cough and sound like she may have a sore throat. Our hearts just break for her. Not to mention it’s scary for us to have to think of such a tiny baby being sick. Hopefully she will shake this soon!

It hasn’t been affecting her mood – she’s still as happy and playful as ever. 🙂

The early morning swap…Here Josh is ready to go up to bed and I’m ready to take over for the day. Hopefully soon she can learn to sleep in her crib so we can all sleep at night!

Mom bought us a cool mist humidifier and some Vicks baby rub, Johnson’s vapor bath, and saline nasal drops and came to drop them off this morning. Thank you so much Mom!

Poor baby! I hope she feels better soon! Have you tried putting the vapor rub on her feet with some socks over them? That is supposed to be the trick 🙂

Our poorest dear Lillian! Sarah, that’s an interesting idea. I wonder how it works with the socks on. Maybe the smell travels from their feet? 🙂

We feel so badly for her and are just keeping such an extra watchful eye on her tonight. I’m just up with her now because it just didn’t feel right to not watch her all night when she has this but do it when everything is fine. We just wouldn’t have been comfortable asleep with her in the crib tonight even if she would have been happy with it.

I’m happy to report that as of now the humidifier really seems to be helping her! It actually probably helps me with the blocked sinus issues I have as well! I can’t say that I like the noise but, as I told Rachel, I would have a jet engine in the living room if it would help our girl. Lillian hasn’t coughed for hours now and we haven’t heard the congestion. Maybe I’ll add another comment here at the end of the night to report if she coughed at all overnight.

I love the new photos you took today, Sweetie! Great lighting of her and just a gorgeous subject. I also love the sweet beautiful photos of you, Sweetie, and great one of your mom with Lillian. I love to see your happy face with your beautiful curls holding our very own precious daughter. It’s just too much!

It’s also really encouraging what you said, Honey, about her sweet and happy mood not being affected at all. If we didn’t hear her cough or the congestion we would have no idea she was under the weather. She’s just so bright and cheery always it’s heart-melting. Tons of smiles and talkies and playing today, as always. Let’s nurse you back to 100% as soon as possible, Lillian!

Letti got sick once while I was sick.. It only lasted three days, and the above mentioned.. Seriously works.. vapor rub under socks, humidifier, and simply saline for babies in her nose!!!

Wow, we’re really going to have to try the rub under the socks tomorrow! I was so tired at the end of last night that I didn’t live up to my comment about giving an update at the end of the night. Lillian did wonderfully all night but did have a bit of a dry cough again when she woke up and got excited. She loves to smile and laugh at us when she wakes up in the morning but it seemed to make her cough. What a poor precious girl!

Rachel said that she coughed a bit but not too badly while I was sleeping in the day and then she barely did at all when we were together for the afternoon and evening. She’s gone a long time without coughing now so we’re praying that this is going to be the end of it! Her voice and congestion did seem to be okay, too. Of course, it didn’t affect her sweet and happy nature at all, either!

She’s sleeping beautifully like an angel now and I’ll try to make it back this time to update if she gives any coughs tonight. I hope she’s kicked this thing out the door now.

  I agree…we have to try it.
  I do wish she hadn’t coughed a few times again today. I think it is a little less though, so hopefully she is shaking it.
