Our little reader

We are so happy that Lillian seems to love books. That’s our girl! Josh and I are both huge readers. I know I get that from my Mom, so it’s probable that Lillian will get it from her Mom and Dad.

One of her favorite books so far is from her Grandma and Grandpa: The Tale of Sir Prance-a-lot. See her with it here:

Since she loves that one so much (and her Sir Prance-a-lot toy that goes with it!)

Josh recently ordered her a few more in the series: Olivia the Owl toy and Peek-a-Boo Forest book, and Emily’s Day book. We know she’s obviously not ‘reading’ yet, but it’s wonderful to see her so interested in her books. Makes us very happy!

The book she’s looking at here is from Uncle George, Aunt Deanna, and cousins Makayla and Alyssa.

She looks like she’s taking it so seriously!

And now for a little blast to the past, here is Lillian back when she was only 2 months old and starting to be interested in books!

Those pictures are adorable! I love it when kids take to books early, both my girls love them too. I remember the first time someone held out a magazine to Ava when she was just tiny and she looked so enthralled with the words that I knew I needed to start reading to her right away 🙂

What a little cutie! Alea is really into reading as well. On a typical day after breakfast, she spends the entire morning reading book after book after book. I hope your sweet little Lillian continues to love reading 🙂 And with you and your husband modeling what fun reading can be to her, I’m sure she’ll get just as hooked as you!

I love these photos, Honey, and you made some great updates to the blog recently. I like the new font and that you can see the entire latest post on the homepage now. I also like the two side bars now with the gray backgrounds.

You always put the perfect captions for our girl! I’m so happy to see her so interested in books already. She likes to pick them up and look at them on her own and she’s always so intently focusing while we’re reading them. It’s fun to have the soft books like Sir Prance-a-lot that she can easily hold and don’t have any sharp edges. It’s always a special treat to have her sit in our laps and read a book to her. I can’t wait to do it for years to come.

She is too cute! Allen loves books too 🙂 He loves to turn the pages. I didn’t know there is a Sir Prance a lot book…I’ll have to look for that one by me.

Oh my gosh, LOVE this soooo much!! These pics are great and to see her look at books and love them is WONDERFUL!! My she sure has changed since those 2 month pics! Her hair is getting so light! Gorgeous little Lillian, my how we love you. (I love how you caption the pics Ra) 🙂

  We got the cloth books at amazon.com. Just do a search for “Emily’s Day”, “tale of sir prance a lot”, and “peek a boo forest”. Lillian LOVES these. 🙂 They have a whole bunch of different titles too. These cloth books are put out by Lamaze books. You’ll have to let me know which ones you picked out!

That is so sweet! My girl does exactly the same, she loves flicking through books, especially art books! I guess it’s all the colours and patterns that fascinate her. Never knew kids were so much fun, had I known I would have started years ago! 🙂 Since you seem to be a big reader; any book tips for me from the states? My aunts website (who lives in San Diego) is; http://www.northernlightquilts.com/ she’s a quilter and gives courses but I just realised that the site is in Swedish, sorry about that. I’m glad to see she is enjoying the book we got her! I love how intense she is in her reading, like you said, she will probably grow up to be a big reader like you two.
