Tomorrow is our anniversary!

This time five years ago I was so nervous and excited I could barely sleep. It was the night before my wedding! I was nervous about being up in front of people and being the center of everyone’s attention; but I was so EXCITED that I was going to become Josh’s wife!

He is my soul mate. He is my matching person. We are so alike in so many ways it’s eerie! We have always had so many similarities and tastes even before we ever met. He is also the hottest guy I’ve ever seen. And I’m not just saying that. You know that feeling you get when you’re a teenager and you have a crush on a famous rock star or an actor? That obsession, that heart-pounding excitement when you see them? Well what I feel for Josh surpasses that.

I STILL have a crush on him even after being married to him for {almost} five years! I’ve been privileged that I’ve been able to meet some of my famous crushes and hang out with them. The thrill sort of wears off. You see they’re just regular people who you might not really want to live with. As soon as I first hung out with Josh I knew I wanted to spend THE REST OF MY LIFE WITH HIM! That would be a dream come true for me.

I am so blessed to be able to have stood up in front of God, family, and friends and be married to the man of my dreams. Thank you Josh! Thank you for all these fun, exciting, fulfilling years. Thank you for creating a beautiful daughter with me who we dreamed about and prayed for. Thank you for an endless amount of love-filled years we still have to experience together! I’m right where I want to be. I’m so happy to be your wife!

Thank you thank you thank you my dearest wife Rachel. I just adore this post and I couldn’t have said it any better for how I feel about you. I am so thrilled to get to spend our fifth wedding anniversasry with my soul mate, the center of our family’s world, my loyal sweet beautiful wife. I feel like the luckiest man in the world just to spend every day with you as your husband. Thank you so much for making all of my dreams officially come true November 4 five years ago!

I sure still feel that exact same heart-pounding thrill and excitement as when we met almost 10 years ago now. I was just so taken with you as soon as I met you, Rachel, and I know that love at first sight is definitely real for us. I was so mesmerized by your beauty when I first saw you but as we started talking and as I got to know more about you I just knew that you were IT. The ONE! My one and only! My true soul mate and life partner! I needed to be with you and how could I be so lucky that you actually felt the same way. I’m so proud that you said yes on our engagement day and then almost 6 months later we had our beautiful ceremony to make it official! You’re the woman of my dreams and you couldn’t possibly be a better wife. I still feel like I’m living in a dream but how lucky am I not to have to wake up from it?

As you said, Honey, it was tough for both of us to sleep this November 3 just from our sheer excitement to finally be doing it and a part of shyness to be the center of attention. I do love that we were able to official join our bond in front of God, family, and friends. It will be very overwhelming again to relive it watching our wedding video tomorrow.

I also am so glad that we don’t only stop to celebrate and appreciate our marriage just once a year on our anniversary. We cherish it every day. It’s so extra special and amazing this year to have Lillian, the daughter of our dreams, spend it with us! You were such a trooper to insist on us going to our favorite restaurant last year and dressing up even though you were battling the 24/7 nausea carrying our girl. Now she’s here with us to celebrate, a day that we were dreaming of so much last year.

Thank you so much, my dearest, for this beautiful journey that we’ve taken together and for just starting our adventure together. I value so much our loving past years and I can’t wait for every new day with you.
