What she’s up to
We have been letting Lillian play with these blocks made by a company named B. They are rubbery soft, squeezable blocks that squeak and they’re completely BPA free, lead free, and phthalate-free so we feel comfortable letting Lillian chew away on these! They’re still a bit big for her little hands to grasp alone, she usually has to use both hands to pick one up. We had initially gotten her the other non-toxic blocks (made from sustainable wood) by Uncle Goose (see pic below),
but they are wooden with sharp edges and Lillian still bonks things onto her head pretty hard when she’s holding something and waving her little arms around. Sharp edges and corners + delicate and sensitive baby skin/eyes = BAD idea. We didn’t want her injuring herself so those are put away until she’s a bit older. Which is too bad because they ARE small enough for one little hand to grasp. She loves the other ones for now though, so that’s no problem!
Here she is mauling my face…I just love that! I love her baby kisses. 😉 And here she is with papa and Shadow. Boy does she get excited and vocal when she sees Shadow! It’s adorable.
This morning she tried her third new vegetable – carrots. She loved them! She still grabs the spoon to help guide it into her mouth. So smart! She prefers the sweet potatoes and carrots over peas for sure. Next up will be fruit, maybe over the weekend!
Also today I showed Lillian the concept of opening and closing a lid. She only needed showing once, then her nimble little fingers and brilliant mind worked together and she did it all on her own. 🙂 She seems to love doing it now!
