Havenhill Happenings

This is a monster of a post…I’ve had so many pictures that I’ve wanted to put on the blog and I just never have enough time in the day to get around to it. Then more time passes and I think, oh that’s so long ago, I shouldn’t post that now…but I really wanted to update the blog here a bit, so here’s a start. Just showing some Havenhill Happenings around here in the last days and weeks.

First off though, I have to mention how sad I was to hear of Junior Seau’s suicide. That really surprised me to hear. My sister Becky told me about it, and what’s really strange about it is that she and some friends of hers were driving past his house at the exact time it was happening inside. They of course had no idea. And why this is extra strange is that they aren’t normally in that area of San Diego, and one of the girls in the car used to live a few doors down from him and she was showing them her house and talking about Junior Seau as they drove past his house. It’s so eerie to think of what might have been. Suppose their car got a flat tire and they went to his door for help. Suppose Becky decided she wanted an autograph. It’s hard to not wonder, would that have delayed it? Prevented it? And my brother’s elderly neighbor passed away in her sleep last night…so strange to hear of two deaths so close to home.

Also close to home, Lillian and I were in the front room today and I heard tires screeching. I looked out the window to see a truck hauling a tractor that wasn’t making it up the hill. The truck was skidding backwards down the road and it wiped out our neighbor’s fence and tree. That was unsettling and upsetting to see. He just as easily could have accidentally slid in our direction too and taken out our fence and wall. What a weird day!

Now for some lighter notes, here are some photos (some recent, some a bit older):

Lillian bopping to her music:

Don’t you love her delicate little hand hanging in the air as she reaches into the basket? 🙂

Curls:

Here she is demonstrating her ‘bear stance’. It’s so cute how she will do this, and turn on her keyboard and shake her little bottom around and up and down to the music!

Teeth!

And speaking of teeth, it’s amazing how your baby will go from this one week: (no teeth)

…to this, a couple weeks later (two teeth!):

Horsey!

Here is Lillian dancing with Nana:

Lillian lets us brush her hair, especially if she can chew on the comb! 😉

Lately we’ve started Lillian have little bits of actual food! We started with a banana piece in her mesh teether/feeder. She LOVES it! She loves to feed herself! I also boiled some potatoes and cut some into small pieces and we let her eat that. She seemed to like it! She picks up the little pieces but doesn’t quite know to put them into her mouth so we help her. Occasionally she’ll pick it up and put it right into her mouth though!

Here is the banana in the mesh:

Oh and I just adore how she gets a full mustache and beard when she feeds herself. It’s too cute and comical. She has such a sweet and serious look about her with it and I just sit there cracking up at her, and that sets her off giggling. She has such a great personality!! Here she is showing off a great mustache/beard from her frozen prune-sicle:

Ok whew, we’re sort of caught up here. Now I still need to do some more past photos, including two trips to different lakes.
