14 months

Oh my goodness, Lillian, you are doing so much lately, and changing so fast that it’s hard to keep up with everything! You’re amazingly fearless, intelligent, sweet, and beautiful. You are 14 months old today! Every new day brings something new you’re doing to entertain us, or show us how much you know! This past month you’ve been doing amazing things!

You can READ some words already Lillian! When you see the words “clap”, “kick”, “wave”, “smile”, and “point”, you DO those things! You get each one right!! Also when you hear us say those words you do it too. 🙂 You also grab your hair when ask you where your hair is, and you look down at and poke your belly button when we ask about that (or you lift our shirts to find ours, ha ha!), you lift your arm/leg/foot/hand when we ask where those are, and nose too. You probably know others that we don’t think to ask you, also.

You stand up ON TOP of your dinosaur and your train walk/ride toys! You grab the handlebars and step up onto the seat that you’re supposed to sit on…but you have so much more fun when you stand…even though it makes us nervous! You also do that on your bouncy horse as well. We sit you up in the saddle and next thing we know, you’re standing up on his back! Fearless!

You climb up on our furniture and all over it. You love to run holding onto our hands down the (aptly named, ha ha!)  runner carpet behind the sofa.

You have actually started shuffling your feet forward, one after the other, when you’re standing by yourself! You are SO CLOSE to running all over the place!

You still say “Dada”, “Mama”, “Dadow”, “Daydoh” (Danger), “Deddow” (yellow – you recognize and identify yellow when you see it too), “Good”, “Diady” (diaper), and “Gobble” pretty regularly. When we say the word “Blow”, like for “blow kiss” you blow real hard…it’s hilarious and adorable!

You love all music and musical instruments..you shake tambourines, maracas, beat drums, play your keyboard (even having proper chord positioning sometimes!), sing into your microphone…you rock back and forth while doing these things. Too adorable!

You LOVE to have us read to you still. You still love to turn the pages.

You put shapes into corresponding holes, square into square, circle into circle, etc. You are very good at putting toys in baskets, boxes, etc. Not to clean up or anything, but just for fun. 🙂

You make a cute and funny sound when you say “aaaa aaa aaaa” and pat your hand over your open mouth while you’re yelling it, like an Indian brave.

You love to shake your head “no”. (You can do it on command, too!) It’s great we can ask if you want something like “do you want more water” and you shake your head if you don’t want any more, and also make a cute little “uh uh” sound!

Lillian, you’re the most wonderful, precious and perfect daughter we could have ever dreamed of! It’s still so amazing to us that we were blessed with you, and we thank God for you every day! We love you!
