Review: Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Honey Bunches of Oats. All opinions are 100% mine.

I have always been a fan of Honey Bunches of Oats – their mixture of sweet, crispy flakes and crunchy granola is a perfect blend for my palate. I was pretty eager to try out their new Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy flavors: Cinnamon Crunch and Chocolatey Almond Crunch.

My little two year old daughter loves cereal and as I poured the bowl of Chocolatey Almond Crunch to take pictures of it for this review post, she asked if she could have some so I said sure, grab some! So she reached into the bowl and she COULD NOT STOP reaching back in and eating it! It was so cute to see her just loving it. So it definitely has the “kid stamp of approval”! ;)

I enjoyed both flavors. There’s something really satisfying about cinnamon in the morning. It’s great with the huge flavorful clusters of oats and the crispy flakes. However, I found that in both flavors the flakes don’t stay crispy for long in the milk…but that’s common in just about every cereal you can find. I’m not a fan of soggy flakes :/

The chocolate one might be my favorite, however, because the little chunks of real chocolate are super yummy and add just the right amount of sweetness to your breakfast.

As for my husband, he tried both flavors and really enjoyed them as well! Something that makes us hesitant about buying the cereal for ourselves to enjoy is that while they are fairly natural in their ingredients they do add an artificial preservative, Bht. (Although I will say that they add it to the packaging material only…which is definitely a step above most other cereal companies!)

I do wish they’d make larger box sizes!! There is never enough! It is really like only three or four bowls of cereal! Overall these are very tasty and satisfying cereals and I would recommend them!

Which of these two flavors are you most excited to try?
