Mother’s Day weekend

This Mother’s Day was the first that I actually am “almost” a mother! Just next month I’ll be holding my little girl in my arms instead of in my womb, and that will feel so good! ๐Ÿ™‚ Everyone was so good to me on this holiday, even though I’m not “officially” a mother yet. Thank you so much everyone!!

I’m so glad that we got to celebrate our mothers, too, and thank them for the wonderful job they do! ๐Ÿ™‚

On Saturday, Josh’s mom came over for a visit. The lilacs and tulips in the photo above are from her. ๐Ÿ™‚ We took her to Becky’s salon to have feathers put in her hair (very cute! Thanks Becky!), and while we were there Becky straightened my hair. We ate out at Coco’s and Dairy Queen for dessert. (Had to have my ice cream fix!)

She also brought us ….. drum roll….. the Empathy Belly!!ย  She teaches Boot Camp for New Dads classes and uses this on the dads! Josh was such a sport and put it on. It only weighs a mere 35 pounds (I’ve unfortunately gained a LOT more than that). His walk was different immediately. We were cracking up!

On Sunday, Josh and I went to my parents’ house. Grandma and everyone else was there too (Becky had to work at the beginning but came later).

This shirt I’m wearing below is one of the ones that my Grandma sewed for my Mom when she was pregnant! I’m so honored to get to wear it now! ๐Ÿ™‚

LOL, this picture of Laura and Mason cracks me up!ย Josh was trying to get a nice shot of Mason with her for Mother’s Day, andย Mason just wouldn’t have it, soย Laura made a pouty-sad face and it just makes a classic photo. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Becky was still at work so we didn’t get a picture of her with Brendon. ๐Ÿ™

And about the Empathy Belly….we brought it so that Josh and Dad and George could all try it out! I promised I wouldn’t post pictures of Dad and George on the blog with them wearing it, but here is Deanna and Dad’s reaction to George with a pregnant belly:

Here is Joshย wearingย the belly (he said I could post this!):

I have to say, the guys were all really good sports about it! The women couldn’t help lauging with glee (NOW they can see what it feels like!), and the guys handled it really well. I could tell they were surprised with the weight of it, and how hard it is to maneuver and walk and sit down and stand up, and bend down to reach something….the list goes on and on! And lucky them, they get to take it right off!!

All in all, it was a great Mother’s Day. I can’t wait till the next one, when I actually have my daughter with me! ๐Ÿ™‚
