12 Weeks Old

Lillian is 12 weeks old today! That sounds like three months, but she won’t be three months old until the 28th. What’s also confusing to me is that we’re already writing in the third month section in Lillian’s baby book. I guess anything after when she turned two months old means she is currently in her third month of life.  Still throws me off a bit sometimes.

Our little wonder-girl has been developing by leaps and bounds this week! She now grabs onto things (like sir prance a lot’s rings), and she puts weight on her feet when we hold her up and even knows to move her feet and legs forward like she’s walking! She is amazing! She said mama the other day (might have been accidental, and it sounded more like muh muh) :). She also said a three syllable ‘word’ ah-goo-bah.

We have been having a terrible time at night though. Poor baby just doesn’t want to sleep or stay sleeping. Last night we bathed her at 7pm and then I nursed her and she fell asleep. We tried to put her in her crib in her nursery (we bought an airbed so we could sleep with her in there after the huge scare a couple weeks ago) but she just can’t stay asleep! We tried continuously from 7pm to 2am then we had to give up. I am worried that too much stress and too little sleep might make my milk dry up, so Josh drank a Starbucks frappuccino and stayed up with her and let me sleep till about 6:30am. Then Josh got to sleep for about 5 hours and we went to babies r us to buy a portable crib we can try in our bedroom. We don’t want to use the bassinet again, and she’s too big for it now anyway! I am so tired, and I am so hoping this will work and she’ll sleep again tonight! Wish us luck!
