21 Weeks

Our Lillian is 21 weeks old today! She’s so amazing and just continues to grow and change so much. Yesterday whenever she did tummy time she rolled to her back right away. Today she didn’t do that as much but she’s still enjoying tummy time much more. Lately Papa is getting more smiles and giggles than Mama. Last week Josh thought it was the other way around, so I guess it is always revolving who gets more attention. We are so greedy for it!

Last night we took Lillian in to the after-hours pediatrician. We just felt like her cough escalated and we wanted to see if they had any answers. And while they didn’t have any definitive answers for us, it seems one possibility is that maybe her reflux is causing the cough. The reflux has gotten worse in the last couple of weeks, poor baby. I hope she can be more comfortable soon. While we were at the doctor Lillian actually drank a full bottle of pumped milk again! She hadn’t done that for a while. She even held the bottle with both hands for a bit! Josh’s hand was on it too though; I don’t think she could have kept it in her mouth on her own just yet! She’s so cute and smart though, and always tries to grab my water bottle when I’m drinking!

They weighed her there last night and she was 14 lbs 13 oz! That was with her outfit and bib on though, so she’d be a little less without that.

I love this new photo you took today, Honey! What a model baby! I love that adorable smile, her grabbing both of her feet, and that precious growing golden hair sticking up on top. Just amazing. I think that Lillian’s hair color looks just like Rachel’s natural color, which is beautiful. It has just the right mixture of blondes, browns, and reds. Great natural highlights!

I’m really happy that the doctor visit went well yesterday although, like you said Honey, we didn’t really get any definitive answers. I hope that the cough is just from something like reflux or allergies but our poor baby to have to deal with those things. At least we’ve been reading that if it is reflux that usually goes away by 1 year of age.

That was awesome that she drank a bottle of pumped milk again! I think that it’s been at least a month since she last drank a full bottle. I was so impressed with her gripping both hands around the bottle. She’s gotten so good at holding things with both hands now. She also did very well with the car ride, even though this all happened around her bedtime. Only a little cries when we were close to back home. Even the doctor had to praise Lillian’s beauty and development!

P.S. It’s true that we’re always trying to get lots and lots of smiles and giggles from our girl and we can’t help but feel jealous when one of us gets more. I know it will be your turn soon, Honey, and I do know most of all that she has unlimited equal love for both of us.

  I’m so glad, Honey! Thanks for saying that…Lillian’s hair color is so much better than mine though! Yes, I’m glad she did fine on the car ride and actually drank a bottle too. So upset that the cough continues though! 🙁

Such a little doll:):):) I love the photos and the updates:):):) I also really really love how your blog is set up – the shelf to the right showing what you are reading to Lillian is brilliant!!! I haven’t ever heard of the Farmer’s Garden but it sure is a beautiful dog on the cover!! Very well done in every way, Rachel!!!
