Special Day

This is a special day in Josh and my history.

Six years ago today he proposed to me!

It was a Sunday, and he’d asked my parents and his mom to join us for brunch at the Hotel Del Coronado’s Crown Room buffet.

He told them the real reason! He told me we were celebrating a late Mother’s Day meal with our moms.

He had asked for my Dad’s blessing when he asked my Mom and Dad to join us. (I could listen to Josh over and over again when he recounts their joyful reaction to the news!!)

He snuck the ring in his pocket, and away we went to the beach.

He’d asked his mom to buy a bouquet of roses and write a message in the sand, from Josh to me, for us to find as we strolled up to the beach…

I KNEW something was up. I just knew it, and I was so ecstatic and thrilled! I couldn’t have been happier.

He is all I’ve ever wanted, and I was so proud and bursting with happiness and tears of joy when he asked me to be his forever.

I love that my parents were there! I love that he had his mom there. It was a joyous celebration!

I’m so thankful that my Dad got these wonderful photos for us to treasure!

And what made that special day even MORE special is that on our way home to my parents’ house, we stopped to look at a house Josh and I were hoping to buy…and did end up buying later that year! What an exciting, wonderful day.

So full of the promise of love, of a future, of a life together!

And little did we know, this day six years ago…that exactly one week after this day, the 21st of May, and five years after our engagement, our beautiful baby daughter would be born! Amazing!
